Joseph Delgado

In his previous position, Joe managed a yearly budget of approximately 300K that is used to create opportunities for the Tribe and Tribal members. He has training in business management, urban/community planning and tribal government, and works closely with federal, state and local governments, and private businesses.
Joe Delgado is the son of Refugio (Duke) and Sonja Delgado. He was born in Kodiak and has been married to Airene Jane for eight years and he has two children - Eliana and Joseph.
Joe worked as the Tribal Transportation Coordinator for the Native Village of Ouzinkie for nine years and his department completed three major projects - widening and improving F Street, a Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), and the first Transportation Safety Plan.
He is involved in economic development as a long-time board member of the Ouzinkie Holding Corporation and is a former member of the Ouzinkie Emergency Committee that recently began improving the Tsunami Evacuation Plan and shelter for disaster preparedness and reaction. He is also involved with SIDCO on the Anton Larsen Bay road extension and road and utility improvements in Ouzinkie. Other projects include support of the tribal mill and firewood production, and creation of a route to Big Lake for salmon re-stocking.
