The Ouzinkie Native Corporation Board of Directors selected shareholder Sharon Anderson by majority vote to fill the vacant board seat until the annual election on October 1, 2021.
Sharon was born and raised in Ouzinkie and is the daughter of Gene Anderson and Angeline Campfield. She earned a master’s degree in Rural Development from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, with a focus on small economies.
She has over 20 years’ experience working in nonprofit organizations overseeing programs and projects that benefit Alaska Native People. She is the executive director of the Valdez Convention and Visitors Bureau and the former executive director for Spruce Island Development Corporation (SIDCO).
